Porvorim: Man from Kolhapur arrested in Goa for carrying drugs

Porvorim, Nov 17: Goa Police on Thursday arrested the 32-year-old man from Kolhapur (Maharashtra) for dealing in narcotics in the State.

“The accused Pradip Narayan Mehtar originally from Radhanagari taluk of Kolhapur was found in possession of drugs worth Rs 1.65 lac at Porvorim, near here,” Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi told reporters.


The police have said that he was found in possession of 1.65 kg of ganja. “The accused was caught red handed while he had come to deliver the drugs to the customer,” Dalvi said.

He is booked under various sections of Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

This is the seventh case related to narcotics during the current year booked in Porvorim.
