Moscow, Nov 15 (IANS): Russian Economic Development Minister Alexey Ulyukayev has been detained over corruption involving a bribe of $2 million, the Investigative Committee said on Tuesday.
Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko said Ulyukayev received the money for a positive assessment the Ministry made, which allowed state-run Russian oil company Rosneft to complete a deal on purchasing the government's 50 per cent stake in the oil company Bashneft, Xinhua news agency reported.
Investigators plan to charge Ulyukayev soon, who was appointed Economic Development Minister in 2013.
