Mangaluru: Stany Alvares appointed district Congress secretary

Mangaluru, Nov 13: District in-charge minister and district Congress president Ramanath Rai has appointed youth leader and social activist Joachim Stany Alvares as general secretary of Dakshina Kannada district Congress committee with effect from November 11, 2016.

Stany Alvares is a resident of Bondel in city and is one among sincere Congress activists. He has been appointed considering his contribution to organize the party.

Alvares is the vice president of leading Konkani cultural organization 'Mandd Sobhann'. Besides being one of the leaders of Bondel church, he is well known in dramas and has acted in Konkani and Tulu films. He is active is social service through various organizations.
