Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School holds annual sports day

Mangaluru, Nov 11: Lourdes Central School (LCS) organized its annual sports day in the Mangala stadium on Friday, November 11. 

The corporator of the Bejai ward Pakash Salian declared the meet open after receiving the national level swimmer and the torch bearer of the day Ishitha.

The chief guest of the program was Fr Walter D'Mello, the associate judicial vicar of Mangaluru diocese who also hoisted the school flag.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Within a healthy body resides a healthy mind. Healthy people are always cheerful and enthusiastic. Participation is importance than winning. I wish good luck to all participants.”

Speaking on the occasion, manager of LCS Fr Wilson D'souza said, “Compete with yourself so that you become better each day. Do not compete with your neighbour but celebrate with the winner. I call upon everyone for a healthy participation.”

Vice principal of the school, Belita Mascarenhas welcomed the gathering while sports co-ordinator Veerendra Alva rendered the vote of thanks.

Principal of the school Fr Robert D'souza, Bejai parish council vice president Stany Vas and others were present on the occasion.
