Dubai, Nov 10: A delegation from the Diplomatic Ladies Group visited Thumbay Hospital – Dubai on Monday, November 7 to support the hospital’s diabetes awareness program ‘Count your steps – to beat diabetes.’ The nine-member delegation was led by Abeer Shocair, wife of the Jordanian Consul General and President of Diplomatic Ladies Group, Dubai.
The delegation was received at the hospital by Dr. Sameer Kumar, Assistant Administrative Director of Thumbay Dental Hospital, Dubai. The delegation toured the hospital’s facilities. They commended Thumbay Hospital’s health awareness initiatives, and expressed support for the ‘Count your steps – to beat diabetes’ campaign launched at the hospital. The visiting delegates were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation of their support to the campaign.
Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice President of the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group said that the campaign was being conducted with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of physical activity to prevent diabetes. The program aims to encourage the participants to make ‘every step count’, by finding ways to keep themselves active, for a healthier future.
