Beltangady: People hunt animal of Iguana species, get caught

Beltangady,   Nov 5: A wild animal which resembles Iguana was caught allegedly by two persons from the reserve forest at Charmady Kanappady in the taluk.  A team led by the range forest officer here arrested both of them.

The arrested accused happen to be Shekhar Alva (39) from Mittabagilu village, and Chidananda Gowda (28) from Puduvettu. Forest officials recovered a sickle they used to catch the animal. The animal was released into the forests after providing treatment for its injuries, it is gathered.

On being produced in the court, the accused persons were remanded to judicial custody.
