Rio e Janeiro, Nov 5 (IANS): Brazil's 1994 FIFA World Cup-winning captain Dunga is reportedly close to joining as the head coach of Chinese football club Beijing Guoan.
Dunga's representatives, Rafael Scheidt and Ricardo Mello, are currently in China in an attempt to hammer out a two-year deal, the Uol news portal reported on Friday.
Beijing Guoan have been without a permanent coach since parting ways with Italian Alberto Zaccheroni in May, reports Xinhua.
Former China player Xie Feng assumed the role on an interim basis after Zaccheroni's departure and led the team to fifth place at the end of the Chinese Super League CSL) season last month.
Dunga has had two spells as coach of Brazil, the most recent of which ended in June after the team's group-stage elimination from the Copa America.
The former midfielder was capped 91 times for Brazil and captained the national team to victory at the 1994 World Cup in the United States.
