Udupi, Nov 3: The activists of Popular Front of India (PFI), Udupi unit staged protests in front of clock tower on Thursday, November 3 demanding release of Bengaluru district president Hashim Sheriff.

Hazim Sheriff was arrested on Wednesday night in connection with the murder of RSS activist Rudresh in October. Hazim is allegedly associated with Irfan Pasha who was earlier arrested in connection with the case.

Alam Brahmavar, district secretary said, “Soon after the death of Rudresh, RSS and BJP were trying to frame PFI activists. Finally he was made the escape goat and arrested in the murder case. It was a well planned conspiracy by RSS activists.”

Condemning the arrest, he further said, “BJP and RSS are trying to mislead the government by associating the murder case of RSS activist with PFI members.”

Abdul Rehman Malpe, district unit said, “Activists of Sangh parivara were involved in Praveen Poojary murder case. No body from BJP and RSS protested during that time. Even BJP state president Yeddyurappa was silent on this issue.”

Alleging MP Shobha Karandlaje, Abdul said, “She has requested to provide security for herself but she is a dangerous weapon. BJP does not want her developement in party. She has no confidence of even winning the upcoming elections.”

“No party should attempt to damage the peace between two communities. PFI will not object arrest of true convicts and those who are truly associated with murder case. The real convicts should be punished according to the law. But the false lawsuit against the PFI activist should be withdrawn immediately,” added Abdul Rehman.
