Udupi, Oct 28: Raviraj (62) from Muniyal Andaru, who was residing in a room in Kings Bar in the town, ended his life by consuming poison inside his room. He had rented this room for the last two weeks, and it is guessed that he would have committed suicide three days back. The suicide came to light on Thursday, October 27.

In another incident, Laxman Shettigar (88) killed himself on the night of Wednesday, October 26 by hanging himself from the rope attached to the rotor wheel of the well in his courtyard.

Krishna Mogaveera (55), a resident of Kome in Tekkatte village in Kundapur taluk, ended his life by jumping into the sea. It is said he was frustrated at the massive debt he had accumulated on the construction of his new house that is yet to be completed. His family members said in their complaint delivered to Kota station that he had left home after telling that he would return after visiting the seashore.

A woman from Paniyur in Belapu village near Katapadi ended her life by jumping into a well. She has been identified as Vanaja (56), a resident of Hosamane in the village. She was suffering from some disorder of the uterus since the last some years; it is gathered. Worried at the fact that the Ayurveda treatment she was getting for this problem had not benefitted her, she jumped into the well at midnight on Wednesday; it is said.
