Panaji: Konkani action thriller 'Noshaa' to premier on Oct 28

Panaji, Oct 27: The first Konkani action thriller is all set to hit the theatres on October 28. Noshaa, a film by Ambition Productions will premiere on Friday in the presence of a gallery of guests and artistes. Directed by Edison Gomes, Noshaa has already created a huge buzz in Goan film industry. With the premiere show going houseful within a few days of ticket sale, Noshaa is set to make a lasting impact in the Goan film industry.

The premiere will be graced by chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar and several MLAs from south including Navelim MLA Avertan Furtado, Nuvem MLA Mickey Pacheco, Benaulim MLA Caetano Silva, Velim MLA Benjamin Silva, Curtorim MLA Reginald Lourenco, former MLA Damu Naik, Churchill Alemao amongst others. Ombudsman and former chief commissioner of income tax Dr Kalyan Choudhari, president of Dalgado Konkani Academy Premanand Lotlikar and president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Chetan Acharya will also be present on the occasion.

Noshaa is a journey of a villain from good to worse and where life leads him in the end. The climax of the film is said to be based on a true story.

The 2 hours and 17 minutes film is power packed with 6 action sequences. These sequences have been directed by Josephfern D'Souza. Produced by an entirely Goan team, the whole film is being shot in Goa. With 500 characters in the frame, all of which are Goans, Noshaa can well be the game changer in the history of Goan films.

This is the first Konkani movie to use techniques like colour grading and 5.1 sound with latest software for production which is presently used only in Hollywood films. Royce da Costa, a post production free lancer, has entirely edited and post produced the movie. The entire equipment was bought and configured to the necessary specifications and a studio was set up at Fatorda where the entire post-production process has been carried out. Aniket Katkar, Shaikh Mohamad Rafiq and Geetesh Gawas have handled the camera for the movie.

The male lead of the film, Amod Mardolkar, is a five-time Mr Goa title winner in body building while the female lead, Merlyn D’Silva, has 13 beauty pageant titles in her kitty. The second lead Elvis Mascarenhas is the only Konkani actor who has worked in a Bollywood film, ‘Jackpot’, as well as numerous Konkani movies. In addition, former MLA of Fatorda Damu Naik, Govind Lotliker and P Agnelo Fernandes have also played important roles in the film.

The movie has a variety of music tracks on platter which will give a fresh new choice to the listeners. The movie has 7 soundtracks covering genres such as rock, hard rock, pop and rap. And while the genres might be international, the music has been produced by Goan artistes and musicians. Songs have been written by P Agnelo Fernandes. Music is by Filip Barreto and the background score is done by noted name in the music industry Sancho Menezes alongside Dipak Manerikar.

The producers have also roped in a Goan, Mark Revlon Fernandes, who is the only Indian to have contested in Voice of UK, to sing for the film. The soundtrack also includes songs sung by ‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ fame Cielda Pereira and Voice of Goa talents Akash Telgu, Sabino and Rutuja Lotlikar.
