Rio de Janeiro, Oct 25 (IANS): Former Brazil captain Thiago Silva has expressed his wish to remain at Paris Saint Germain beyond this football season.
The 32-year-old, who is contracted to the French Ligue 1 giants until June 2018, is reportedly being pursued by several top European clubs, reports Xinhua.
"We started talking (about a new contract) last year. I do not know why we didn't continue," the central defender was quoted as saying by Sambafoot on Monday.
"But I am happy. I'm happy here. I want to stay and extend my contract but we need to speak with the president to see what we'll do."
Last week, Silva's agent, Paulo Tonietto, said his client could be tempted to leave PSG if he is not offered a new deal by December.
Silva joined PSG in 2012 from AC Milan for 42 million euros (around $45 million) and has made 166 appearances for the reigning French league champions.
