Udupi, Oct 21: 'Jana-Mana', a conversation with the beneficiaries of various schemes of the state government and the district in-charge minister of Udupi district, Pramod Madwaraj, was held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Rajathadri, Manipal on October 21. The minister inaugurated and presided over the program. In his presidential speech, he recounted the achievements of Siddaramaiah’s government in the last three years. "The chief minister knows the problems faced by people from various sections of the society personally, which is why he designed and implemented those schemes effectively," he said.
The discussion was held with the beneficiaries of the famous ‘bhagya’ schemes like Anna Bhagya, Krishi Bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya, and other schemes like Ksheera Dhare, VidhyaSiri, Maitri, Manaswini, Ganga Kalyana, Basava Vasathi Yojane besides other schemes in the co-operative sector. Beneficiaries comprised students, agriculturists, members of the transgender community, from various corners of the district. They shared their opinions with the Minister about the benefits of the schemes.
During the conversation, the minister instructed the concerned officers present at the program to give more information and clear any doubt that the gathering had. Some of the beneficiaries tried to draw the Minister's attention towards certain problems in the schemes. To this, the minister conferred with the heads of the concerned departments and assured to solve the problem immediately.
District additional deputy commissioner K Anuradha, KAS, welcomed the gathering. District officer of the department of Information, Rohini K, delivered the keynote address.
Deputy Commissioner T Venkatesh IAS, President of Udupi City Municipal Commission Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje, Chief Executive Officer of Udupi Zilla Panchayath Priyanka Mary Francis were present for the discussion.
