M'luru: A J Institute of Allied Health Sciences holds orientation for new batch

Mangaluru, Oct 21: A J Institute of Allied Health Sciences, in the city organized an 'Inauguration and Orientation Programme of Allied Health Sciences: Batch 2016-17' on October 5 at the institute's auditorium. The event was presided over by the Dr A J Shetty, president of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust and founder, A J Group of Institutions.

Professor (Dr) Francis N P Monteiro, principal, A J Institute of Allied Health Sciences welcomed the gathering and stressed on the need for students to cultivate the habit of dedication and sincerity towards their chosen profession. Professor (Dr) Ashok Hegde, dean, A J Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre highlighted the importance of Allied Health Science courses in healthcare. He emphasized that allied courses are an integral part of the healthcare delivery system.

Former dean, Professor (Dr) M Ramesh Pai motivated the newly joined students to become trendsetters in their chosen field. Dr Muktha M Pai, professor of pathology, A J Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre delivered the orientation address and enlightened the new entrants and their parents on the responsibilities and opportunities in relation to various courses on the subject.

President of LMET and founder of A J Group of Institutions, Dr A J Shetty, delivered the presidential address and elaborated on the ‘vision and mission of A J Group of Institutions’ and enthused the students to study hard and to be the best in the field, thereby rendering their humane services to the poorer and marginalized sections of society. He assured the students of the management’s continuous support in achieving their educational goals.

A J Institute of Allied Health Sciences trains students in the wide array of allied health science courses such as MSc medical laboratory technology, BSc medical laboratory technology, BSc medical imaging technology, BSc renal dialysis technology, BSc perfusion technology, BSc optometry, BSc respiratory care technology, BSc operation theatre technology, BSc radiotherapy technology, BSc neuro science technology and BSc cardiac care technology. Students from various parts of Southern India and a few students from other parts of the world have enrolled in this course of batch 2016-17.

Yogesh Vaghela, lecturer, department of optometry proposed the vote of thanks and Tripthi Uchil, lecturer, compered the entire orientation programme.
