Kolkata, Oct 18 (IANS): I-League-winning Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen on Monday said Indian Super League (ISL) football matches have not been up to expected levels so far.
"The ISL is India's premier club competition. You have good foreign coaches and top players here. You expect less of aerial balls and more of ground passing," Sen told reporters on the sidelines of an I-League U-16 game between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal here. Mohun Bagan won the derby match 2-0.
"I hope we will get to see better games from the matches to come," the former United SC coach said.
Sen though said in the same breath that he watches ISL to learn the finer intricacies of coaching.
"I watch ISL to improve my acumen. I want to learn from the coaches there," said Sen.
North East United FC, according to Sen will be the team to beat this season.
"They have impressed one and all this year. It's a good team."
