Udupi, Oct 15: G Vasudeva Bhat Perampalli, leader of Hindu Sanghatane and Brahmin Samaja has warned that they will put an end to the propaganda by a few unemployed people creating false news of discrimination in the Math to malign the image of the math and Pejavara Shree. “We have borne this humiliation with patience for the last several years but cannot bear it any longer. Double the number of Krishna devotees will arrive to prevent the proposed siege of the Math by some disruptive forces. We will make sure that no such incidents occur again in the state,” he said.
“There should be a review of discrimination, reservation and concessions that are being provided. Some groups are receiving unduly large amount of facilities using backward class as a tool. With this, the call of discrimination has been increasing in the country and other communities have also demanded that they be included in the backward class categories as well."
"This is a dangerous development considering the future of the country. Political parties are responsible for this. Brahmins who are in minority are eligible to backward class status. However, they are living with their self esteem without asking for such privileges. It is intolerable that some vested interests are holding Brahmins responsible for the ills in society,” he said.
