Kasargod, Oct 15: After a scooter and a car collided with each other at Hanafi Bazar on national highway 66 near Uppala, in the district on Friday, October 14, the pillion rider of the scooter died while the rider suffered serious injuries.
The person who lost his life in this accident was Mustaq Hussain (62), a resident of Nagavara in Govindapura, Bengaluru. Muhammed Ashfaq (40), residing in an apartment at Firdous Nagar near Kaikamba, suffered critical injuries. He stands admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru.
Both Hussain and Ashfaq were going to the mosque at 5.45 am on Friday when a car that was moving towards Mangaluru hit their two-wheeler. Hussain fell to the road due to the impact of the collision, suffered severe head injuries, and died on the spot. The car too was damaged in the accident. Those in the car abandoned the car at the spot and went away after the accident.
Mushtaq Hussain was the managing director of Daniel Modern School at Bengaluru. Injured Muhammed Ashfaq happened to be to be the brother of Mustaq Hussain's wife. Hussain had come to Ashfaq's house with family on Thursday evening on a visit.
The deceased is survived by his wife and four children.
