Mumbai, Sep 29 (TOI): A retired Bombay high court judge presently practising as a senior advocate has approached the Bombay high court over the Maharashtra government's failure to pay him over Rs 46 lakh as fees for engaging his services.
BH Marlapalle retired from the HC in 2011 and started his practise in the Supreme Court in November 2012. According to the application filed by him, various departments of the state government sought his services to represent them in the Supreme Court. However, the state is yet to clear his dues that have now gone up to Rs 46.3 lakhs. Marlapalle sought to be added in a petition filed by another senior advocate S K Dholakia, to whom the state owes around Rs 14 lakh.
