Kolkata Sep 20 (IANS): The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is mulling naming seven Eden Gardens' stands after eminent personalities involved with the game in the state like former India captain Sourav Ganguly and late cricket administrator Jagmohan Dalmiya, an official said here on Monday.
The other names proposed at the association's working committee meeting held during the day are former cricketer Pankaj Roy and former CAB presidents B.N. Dutt, A.N. Ghosh, Snehasnshu Acharya and Sidhartha Shankar Ray.
"This was discussed in the meeting. Nothing is finalised yet. The office bearers will take a call," CAB Treasurer Biswaroop Dey told reporters here.
"I proposed the name of Pankaj Roy and Sourav Ganguly. This was (Jagmohan) Dalmiya's wish that stands are made on their names," he added.
CAB Joint Secretary Avishek Dalmiya proposed the names of Ghosh, Biswanath Dutta, and his father.
Among the other decisions taken were slashing of ticket prices from the previous maximum of Rs 1,500 for the Test. The new ticket denominations will be Rs 1,000, Rs 750 and Rs 500.
Each of the CAB affiliated units will get 25 tickets. Counter ticket sales will start from Tuesday.
