Manchester, Sep 1 (IANS): Raheem Sterling has said hard work is the reason for his improvement as a striker for Manchester City in the English Premier League football this season.
Sterling, 21, scored twice in City's 3-1 victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium to go top of the Premier League over the weekend, reports Cana.
City has now registered three wins from three Premier League matches under new manager Pep Guardiola.
"I just made a promise, something that I said to myself, that when I come back at the start of this season, I am going to work hard and try to be as consistent as I can," said Sterling on Wednesday.
"It's something that I will definitely take into every season with me, to remember that sort of stuff and just to move forward from it."
City were 2-0 up after only 18 minutes, with Sterling drilling home the opener on eight minutes and taking advantage in injury-time with a delicate finish from the angle from David Silva's pass.
"I'm enjoying my football and I am enjoying winning games, and I am working hard to continue doing that," said Sterling.
"This is the season you will see me working my hardest, that's for sure."
