HP's privacy screen secures notebooks from visual hacking

New Delhi, Aug 29 (IANS): HP Inc. on Monday announced that it has introduced HP Sure View, an integrated privacy screen to its notebooks that helps protect against visual hacking with the press of a single button.

HP Sure View is expected to be available in September as an option on HP EliteBook 1040 full-HD touch and non-touch versions and the HP EliteBook 840 notebooks, the company said.

Developed with 3M privacy technology, HP Sure View eliminates the need to carry additional tools to guard sensitive information.

Users can simply press the f2 key to immediately transition the PC to privacy mode, which reduces up to 95 per cent of visible light when viewed at an angle, making it difficult for others to view information on the screen.

"At HP, we work towards innovation in design, productivity, security and entertainment to build products that are suitable for today's lifestyle and work culture", said Ketan Patel, Director, Personal Systems Business, HP Inc. India, in a statement.

HP Sure View helps users work more confidently from public locations without the fear of data on the screen being exposed to others.

Building this technology directly into the device can help companies better comply with regulatory requirements, specifically for businesses in the health care, public sector and finance sectors.
