Bali, Dec 6: Prepare yourself with a new emergency kit unless you take steps to stop climate change, a group of young activists told delegates at the UN conference here on Wednesday December 5.

The members of the NGOs gathered at the main entrance of the Bali International Convention Centre where over 10,000 delegates from 187 countries are discussing Dec 3-14 how to tackle climate change.

They displayed their emergency kit and explained why each item would become necessary:

* Malaria prophylaxis pills, because ranges for vector-disease carrying species will change dramatically, impacting millions

* Lifebelts, as the sea level is already rising and endangering coastlines

* A hand-carried fan, as everyone will be living in a hotter world all the time

* Water purification tablets, because contamination of aquifers and melting glaciers will drastically affect global water supply

* Emergency food ration, as climate change will cause desertification of agricultural land, impacting global food supply

* Vitamins to maintain one's immunity - as biodiversity decreases, possible cures to diseases from medicinal plants may be lost

* A bus ticket, as climate change may force innumerable people to move to more habitable locations.
