Panaji, Aug 19 (IANS): BJP MLA and assembly Deputy Speaker Vishnu Wagh, who was airlifted to Mumbai on Thursday following a second heart attack in two months, is being treated by top cardiac and neurology experts at the Hinduja hospital, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said on Friday.
On a day when a spate of rumours feared the worst for Wagh, Parsekar said that people should stop speculation in public and pray for the well being of the St. Andre MLA.
"Let us all pray for him," Parsekar told reporters in Panaji.
Wagh, a former journalist, writer and poet, had suffered a massive heart attack in May as well, for which he underwent an angioplasty. He was admitted following another attack on August 15 and was being treated since at the Goa Medical College and hospital, before being airlifted to the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai.
"I get messages about his health every few hours. The response will be known in the next 24 hours. Top experts are attending to him from the neurology department," Parsekar said.
