New York, Aug 19 (IANS): Micro-blogging website Twitter has added a quality filter to its notifications settings which, when turned on, will automatically filter low-quality content like duplicate tweets or content that appears to be automated.
The quality filter uses a variety of signals such as the account origin and behaviour to improve the quality of tweets you see.
Users will also have the ability to limit which notifications they receive across mobile and the web, Twitter said in a blog post on Friday.
It does not filter content from people you follow or accounts you have recently interacted with and, depending on your preferences, you can turn it on or off in your notifications settings.
Twitter's quality filter was rolled out last year to select people having verified accounts.
While it did not delete abusive tweets, it instead hid those from your list of notifications.
This is just the start and more updates will be made available in future, said Twitter.
