Mumbai, Aug 19 (IANS): Key Indian equity market indices opened flat on Friday despite firm global cues as investors await the announcement of the new Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) was trading 27.11 points or 0.10 per cent higher during the early session.
The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 10.05 points or 0.12 per cent higher at 8,683.30 points.
The BSE Sensex, which opened at 28,167.66 points, was trading at 28,150.55 points (at 9.28 a.m.) in the early session, higher 27.11 points or 0.10 per cent from the previous day's close at 28,123.44 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 28,212.30 points and a low of 28,109.80 points in the trade so far.
