New York, Aug 11 (IANS): Japan-based Kyocera has announced a new smartphone that packs "Super Wide View" 1080p action camera which has its own image processor that gives it slow-motion, sports, action and underwater mode.
For security, the 5-inch DuraForce Pro smartphone packs a fingerprint sensor, built-in encryption, Android for work support and is expected to be priced around $418, engadget.com reported on Thursday.
The 135-degree field of view is similar to dedicated action cams and Kyocera will eventually release a case that supports GoPro-style mounts.
The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 617 octa-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
Apart from an action camera, the device sports 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, houses 3,240mAh QuickCharge 2.0 battery and includes NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and a barometer.
