Mumbai, July 18 (IANS): The key Indian equity indices on Monday morning opened higher following firm global cues.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 120.54 points or 0.43 per cent higher during the morning session.
The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 23.85 points or 0.28 per cent higher at 8,565.25 points.
The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 27,920.66 points, was trading at 27,957.04 points (at 9.16 a.m.) in the early session, higher 120.54 points or 0.43 per cent from the previous day's close at 27,836.50 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,978.98 points and a low of 27,918.48 points in the trade so far.
