Panaji, July 8 (IANS): Responding to opposition criticism over his frequent visits to Goa, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said he travels to his home state once every 10 days though it is not easy to get air tickets.
"I come to Goa now and then. It's not only on Saturdays or Sundays. I come once in 10 days and will keep coming. This is not only my home but my political homeground too. Any MP who gets elected visits his place every eight-10 days; I also do it," Parrikar said at a government function in Margao, 35 km from Panaji.
But getting to Goa, he said, was not so easy and tickets had to be booked way in advance.
"Whenever I plan to come (to Goa) I have to book tickets four-five days in advance because you don't get air tickets easily. Even if you plan to travel (to Goa) on Tuesday, you don't get tickets," the former Goa Chief Minister said.
