Bengaluru, Jun 19: The ministers who are likely to be dropped from the state ministry, their fans, as well as legislators who were also aspiring to become ministers, are seething with anger. There have been sporadic protests by the fans of leaders who are either likely to be dropped or not given ministerial berths.
Qamarul Islam, Baburao Chinhansur, Ambareesh & Kimmane Ratnakar
After it became clear that they would be shown the door, ministers, Qamarul Islam, and Baburao Chinhansur, went to the residence of leader of the Congress in parliament, Mallikarjun Kharge, at New Delhi to discuss the issue. Later, Qamarul said that conspiracy was hatched by some people from within his own community to unseat him. He angrily said he will bring this aspect to the notice of the party high command. MLA from Mayakonda, Shivamurthy Nayak, too expressed anger at this development.
Minister for primary and secondary education, Kimmane Ratnakar, who arrived at his hometown, Thirthahalli, on Friday afternoon, held consultations with his supporters and close confidants. Later, he asked his security staff to go back besides abandoning the government car and travelling in his personal car. He also switched off his cellphone thereafter. He also wrote a letter paying tributes people for supporting him in his Facebook account.
At several places, supporters of some leaders held protests after they came to know that they were being dropped from the ministry. Congress activists took to streets at Nanangud demanding not to drop minister, Srinivas Prasad, from the ministry. Protests were also held at Pandavapura, Mandya and Srirangapatna in Mandya district after rumours about dropping of Ambareesh spread.
