Mumbai, Jun 13: The city's Bhavani foundation donated a bus to Dakshina Kannada district Higher primary school, Bantwal taluk Nadumagaru. At the school programme held in Bantwal on June 12, district in charge minister and Bantwal Vidhana Sabha constituency MLA B Ramanatha Rai who presided over the programme showed the green signal for the bus and distributed free note books to the school children.
Kusumadhara Shetty, the donor of the bus, who inaugurated the programme reminded the gathering that they should not forget the way they grew. “I am fortunate to donate the bus to the school where I had studied. We should not dislike Kannada medium schools. Those who have studied in Kannada medium schools have reached high positions. I will always be contributing towards the progress of the school,” he said.
Zilla panchayat members Padmashekar Jain, Prakaschandra Shetty Thumbe, Booda president Pius L Rodrigues, Taluk panchayat member Baby Krishnappa, constituency education official Sheshanayana K, social workers Mayilappa Salian, Mundreluguthu Sampath Kumar Shetty, Nadumogaruguthu K N Saigiridhara Shetty, dentist Dr K Rajarama and working journalists association Bantwal taluk president Mounesh Vishwakarma distributed books and stationery to children and wished them well.
Bhavani foundation member Chelladka Radhakrishna Shetty, old students service committee president Nadumagaruguthu K N Shivarama Shetty, Vinaya Kumar, headmaster K Chandra, SDMC president Narayana Gowda M, Shivappa Poojary Hatadadka, Baby Kunder, Narayana Rai, Sudhakar Shetty Shankerabettu and other dignitaries were present.
