Mumbai, Jun 9 (IANS): Key Indian equity market indices opened flat on Thursday taking a negative global cues.
The sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE, which had closed at 27,020.66 on Wednesday, opened lower at 26,994.48. Minutes after, it was trading at 26,947.79 points, lower 72.87 points, or 0.27 per cent.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 51-scrip Nify, which had closed at 8,273.05 points, opened on Wednesday at 8,273.35 points. Subsequently, it was ruling at 8,257.90 points, with a loss of 15.15 points, or 0.18 per cent.
Asian markets were trading lower on Thursday as a weaker dollar weighed on Japanese shares and South Korean stocks did not move up from a surprise interest rate cut.
On Wednesday, the US stocks closed higher led by materials and industrial stocks.
India's main indices were flat on Wednesday due to cut in GDP forecast by the World Bank to 7.6 per cent from 7.7 per cent.
