Kalakiran Announces Life-time Achievement Award - 2007

Mumbai, Oct 29: The Kala Kiran life-time Achievement Award-2007 will be awarded to veteran musician, singer and dramatist, ‘Harryboy’ (Harry D’Souza).


This was announced in the inaugural meeting of Kalakiran Life-time Achievement Award committee – 2007 held at the Champ Hotel, Kalina here on Sunday October 28 at 4 pm.

The committee consists of eminent Konkani people who are achievers and contributors to the cause of Konkani language, according to a press release.

This Life-time Achievement Award will be presented to Harryboy during a grand glittering cultural programme at Billava Hall, Vakola, Santacruz (E), here on January 6 2008 at 4 pm, a press release stated.


Lawrence D’Souza, the chairman of the committee, Gregory Almeida, vice-chairman, Francis Olivera, general secretary,  Clement Lobo, treasurer, Lawrence Coelho, editor, Divo, Daisy Dias, Harry D’Souza (Harryboy), William D’Souza and Alex Saldanha of Vakaloacho Talo were present on the dais during the inaugural meet.

    I would like to clarify that Mr. Harry Boy is not the founder president of Vakalocho Talo but he is one of the founder members and has been the vice-president since the birth of the organisation.

    It is wonderful to note that veteran Konkani dramatists,writers, singers and musicians are being recognised by various cultural organisations for their contribution in enriching Konkani culture.
