Mumbai, May 19 (IANS): Key Indian equity market indices that opened in the red on Thursday fell further during the afternoon session.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) was trading 128.13 points or 0.50 percent lower during the afternoon session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 40 points or 0.51 percent lower at 7,830.15 points.
The BSE Sensex, which opened at 25,713.84 points, was trading at 25,576.48 points (at 01.26 p.m.) in the afternoon session, lower 128.13 points or 0.50 percent from the previous day's close at 25,704.61 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 25,714.56 points and a low of 25,494.82 points in the trade so far.
Almost all the sectors were trading in red. Heavy selling pressure was seen in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), telecom and capital goods.
