New Delhi, Apr 28 (Zee News): Hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over ongoing drought issue in states, former Minister of Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday demanded that an all-party meet should have been convened to discuss the drought situation.
Shouldn't Prime Minister Narendra Modi call for an all party meet and Chief Ministers meet to address drought issue?, Azad, who is also the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha said today.
He also urged the ministers to keep away politics to carry out relief work in drought-hit states.
"Politics should not be done over drought issue. Opposition is ready to work in cooperation with Centre to address this issue," ANI quoted Azad as saying.
Meanwhile, according to another report, Congress today staged a walk out of Rajya Sabha over the Centre's way of handling the drought issue.
