Panaji, Apr 27 (TOI): Dissenting voices, including Durgadas Kamat and Tanvir Khatib, at a press conference on Tuesday not only persisted with their old demand of dismantling the recently-formed 17-member election and co-ordination committee, but also said tickets should not be given to seniors of the party who lost in the last elections.
Two days ago Kamat and Khatib along with Feroz Khan, Sandeep Naik and Rylan Cabral had voiced their dissent over the stifling of party youth leaders' voices, further highlighting that they had been given scant representation on the election and co-ordination committee.naji: Senior and junior leaders of the Congress party continue to be at loggerheads, and it is unlikely that the warring factions will forget their differences any time soon.
Some junior members of the party, on Tuesday, fired a fresh salvo at party seniors, demanding that aged leaders, who lost in the last assembly elections, not be given tickets for the 2017 assembly election.
Interestingly, the dissenting faction also claimed to have support of some seniors of the party.
Senior congress leader Jitendra Deshprabhu, and chairperson of state minority cell of Congress, Urfan Mulla has reacted strongly saying dissent is a ploy to jeopardize poll preparations. Mulla even said they (dissenting voices) did not represent the true voice of the youth Congress workers.
