Mangalore Oct 16: Hero Honda Motorola ‘Campus Rock Idols’, an inter-collegiate rock music competition is all set for its fourth edition and for the year 2007 for the regional rounds, in case of Karnataka, it will be held at Manipal on November 17, informed a press release here,

The said competition is held in association with Reliance, Levis & VH1 and will be spread over 10 cities across the country over a period of two months. It will begin with the regional events at Jaipur and Hyderabad on October 27 and culminate in a grand finale in Delhi on December 2.

The other regional events will be held in Chandigarh, Shillong, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune and Delhi respectively. The South zone comprises Bangalore, Hyderabad and Manipal, while the West zone encompasses Pune and Ahmedabad. Jaipur, Delhi and Chandigarh from the cities in the North Zone and in the East Zone, the event will be organized in Kolkata and Shillong.

Further the press release informed that the top two music bands from each city in the respective zones will compete in the zonal finals. The South zone finals will be held in Manipal, Shantala Football grounds. The zonal finals for the other zones will be held at Kolkata, Pune and Delhi.

The grand finals will have the top two bands from each zone competing against each other. The winning band gets a prize of Rs. 75,000, the first runner-up will get Rs. 50,000 and the second runner-up will get Rs. 25,000 as prize money. This year’s winners will get an opportunity to perform alongside an international rock artiste, promoted by DNA Networks.
