'Jinneche Dhage' book by Br John M Alfonso released

Goa, Apr 25: Jinneche Dhage, a book of essays on value education written by Br John Malvino Alfonso OCD was released at the hands of Sudesh Naik, headmaster, Govt High School, Sadolxem. Chetan Acharya, president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion Chetan Acharya stressed on the need of thought provoking lliterature. Sudesh Naik congratulated Br John M Alfonso OCD for giving the readers value-based literature and focussed on the need of readership to Konkani literature.













Kamlakar Mhalshi of Om Shree Dutt Padmaja Prakaxon welcomed the gathering. Konkani writer Guadalupe Dias reviewed the book. Fr. Henry Moras OCD, Chaplain, Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, Xellim and Fr Avito Fernandes, Parish Priest, St. Francis Xavier’s Church, Bhatpal, were on the dais.

Br John Alfonso OCD expressed his sentiments. Venkatrai Naik compered the function while Bhutnath Velip, Lecturer of Balram Higher Secondary School, Ordhfond, Poinguinnim proposed a vote of thanks. Fr. Ajith Rodrigues OCD, Br. Ivan Sequiera OCD, Writers,friends and relatives of the author were present for the programme.

This is the fourth book of Br John M Alfonso. He has to his credit other three books,‘Sukhi Jinn’, ‘Jinnechi Vatt’and ‘Jinnechea Som’dirant’. ‘Jinnechi Vatt’ a book written originally in roman script has been transliterated into Kannada script. The same book has been awarded by Thomas Stephen Konkani Kendra, Goa Konkani Academy and Konkani Bhasha Mandal.
