Mumbai, Apr 15 (The Hindu): The judicial custody of Nationalist Congress Party leader Chhagan Bhujbal and former Member of Parliament Sameer Bhujbal has been extended till April 27. The uncle and nephew deposed via video-conferencing before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court on Thursday. Advocate Hiten Venegavkar, appearing for the Enforcement Directorate, sought judicial custody of the duo and said that a preliminary charge-sheet has been filed.
The remand application said that Rs 131.86 crore of Bhujbals’ property has been attached and Rs 708.30 crore is left to be attached.
Special Judge PR Bhavake has allowed a durri, table, chair, sleep apnea machine, nebuliser and home food for the senior Bhujbal and rejected the application for medicines, and said that the jail doctor will decide the medication.
