Tokyo, Apr 4 (IANS): Tokyo shares opened the trading on Monday lower on the yen's advance which dragged down the export related issues.
At 9.15 a.m. (local time), the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged down 62. 23 points, or 0.38 percent, from Friday to 16,101.93, Xinhua news agency reported.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 1.83 points, or 0.14 percent, at 1, 299.57.
