Mumbai, Mar 22: Former editor of Mogaveera monthly magazine, poetess G P Kusuma has been awarded a PhD by Mumbai University for her thesis on 'A cultural study of Mogaveera community in Mumbai', written under the guidance of Mumbai University Kannada department head Dr G N Upadhya.
At a convocation ceremony held at Ranade Bhavan of Mumbai University, Kaleena campus, Santacruz east on Monday March 21 morning and presided over by Dr G N Upadhya, G P Kusuma presented her thesis in detail in public. After receiving public opinion, valuator, Bhandarkar College Kundapur, head of the department of Kannada, Dr Rekha Bannadi awarded the certificate to G P Kusuma, draped a shawl and awarded the PhD.
Mogaveera Vyavasthapaka Mandali president president Ajith G Suvarna, advocate G K Karkera, Kannadiga Patrakarthara Sangha Maharashtra president Chandrashekar Palethady, Mogaveera monthly magazine editor Ashok S Suvarna, G K Karkera, Narayana Bangera Dombivli, Sadananda K Uchil, K Hejmady and Srinivasa Jokatte expressed their opinions and congratulated G P Kusuma.
