Doha, Mar 21: In the second M Pallonji Cricket Tournament 2016, hosts M Pallonji had a cakewalk when they thrashed the new entrants Worley Parsons by 177 runs.
At the official inauguration, Chidananda Nayak, general manager was the chief guest who symbolically played a ball to kickstart the tournament in the presence of Qatar Veterans’ League officials.
Electing to bat M Pallonji posted a massive total of 281 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Affan was on fire, scoring a hurricane knock of 73 runs off only 18 balls with 10 sixes and 3 boundaries. He was bowled out by Veera. Razik again, bowled by Veera had a quick fire 36 runs with 3 sixes and 3 boundaries while Ibrahim chipped in with a fast 33 runs including 4 sixes and a boundary. He was caught by Thilak off again Veera.
Veera was the most successful bowler claiming 3 wickets, while Satish, Sridharan, Purv and Janu took a wicket each.
In reply Worley Parsons were all out for 104 runs in 18.1 overs. Janu played well to score 32 runs including 3 sixes and 2 boundaries. Thilak also contributed 21 runs with 2 boundaries.
Thisaru and Firdouz took 2 wickets each while Razik, Chidananda, Affan, Ibrahim and Melroy took a wicket each.
