Tokyo, Feb 23 (IANS): Japan shares erased gains in the morning session and ended mixed by the break on Tuesday as sentiment here, although boosted by the rising oil prices, was held by the yen's advance.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched up 15.39 points, or 0.10 percent, higher from Monday to 16,126.44, Xinhua reported.
In the contrast, the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange edged down 1.81 points, or 0.14 percent, to 1,298.19.
