Mumbai, Feb 20: The women's wing of Kannada Sangha, women's wing serving in the city for the last eight decades held their get-together at Kannada Sangha reading room, Matunga east, on Friday February 19 evening.
President Gururaj S Nayak lit the traditional lamp and set the programme in motion. He also welcomed the gathering and delivered the keynote address. Women's wing executive president Ranjani V Pai introduced the guests. Senior author and poet Dr Sunitha M Shetty was the chief guest. The office bearers presented flower bouquet and memento to Dr Sunitha Shetty, draped her in a shawl and wished her well.
Sharada Ambesangi compered the programme. Joint secretary Somanath Karkera proposed the vote of thanks.
Sudhakar C Poojary of the Sangha, library officer S K Padmanabha, women's wing vice president Jayanthi C Rao, Sandhya Prabhu and others were present. The programme concluded with the sharing of jaggery and sesame.
