Patiala House attacks expose fascist Sangh Parivar: Digvijay

Panaji, Feb 20 (TOI): Adding to mounting criticism over attacks on scribes at the Patiala House court complex in New Delhi, Congress general secretary in charge of Goa Digvijay Singh said the incident that came despite Union finance minister Arun Jaitley's condemnation, revealed the fascist ideology of the Sangh Parivar and RSS.
Speaking to media persons in Panaji ahead of a meeting with local leaders, Singh said "Repeated attacks show the blatant fascist character of the sangh that has no respect for law, or the honorable Supreme Court. I am surprised at the ineffective action of the Delhi police," Singh said.

The AICC general secretary also took the opportunity to mock the massive meeting held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with farmers in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh. Around 5 lakh farmers were expected at the meeting. "People are being paid 500 to attend the rally. The district collector and other authorities have been told to ensure that farmers and locals attend. It would have been more appropriate if the money was given as grants to farmers," Singh said. Reports showed that government authorities had closed down many schools across Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

"Modi should raise the minimum support price for agricultural crops as recommended by the Swaminathan report if he is concerned about farmers," he said. Singh will meet the North Goa block committees on Friday. "The process of selection of candidates will start at the block level. Hopefully, the names will be decided much before the last date of filing nominations," Singh said.
