Would kick Hazard if I was his teammate: Roy Keane

Birmingham, Feb 19 (IANS): Former Ireland and Manchester United skipper Roy Keane has lambasted Chelsea's Eden Hazard, saying he would "kick him up and down the training pitch" if they were playing for the same outfit.

Hazard suggested a few days back that he may quit Chelsea and move to French club Paris Saint Germain by praising the latter at a press conference before a Champions League encounter.

The Belgian international has had a poor season with the Blues and Keane did not hold back when discussing his recent comments.

"I can't understand these players, he signed an extension of five years only last year, when we saw how brilliant he was. And then he's coming out with all that nonsense on the eve of a big game," Keane was quoted as saying by the Independent on Thursday.

"If I was a teammate of his I would kick him up and down the training pitch. Some of the senior players have got to get hold of him. He's a talented boy, but his attitude is like a spoilt child. It was absolutely ridiculous," he said.

The Aston Villa assistant coach went onto say that Hazard should have waited for the game to end and then go ahead with what he had to say.

"You don't mind some players sometimes being moody, or having their head turned if they think they might be moving, but once you go on that pitch you've still got your pride," he said.

"You're playing for your teammates, for your club, for your supporters, for your family. You've got to go out and perform, and be moody after the game if need be."
