Dubai, Feb15: 'Nachom-ia Kumpasar', a Konkani musical film, when heard of, brings back memories of yesteryears to every Goan and Konkani speaking diaspora all around the world. This movie has been beautifully knit together through 20 popular Goan songs which has won accolades in a very short time.
The director of Nachom-ia Kumpasar along with the executive producers and their team, has tirelessly sculpted this movie over a period of ten years and he has dedicated this hard work to the unsung, unacknowledged Goan musicians.
Bardroy has exquisitely handpicked some of the best Goan talents like John D’Silva, Meenacshi Martins, Prince Jacob, Ronnie Monsorate, Jacob Pereira, Cielda, Rocky, Semy, Roy, Anthony and many others along with some of the talents outside Goa like Palomi Ghosh and Vijay Maurya whose roles are centred in this film and with all these invaluable talents, the magical Goan tunes of Chris Perry and Lorna were recreated to a perfect refinement to fit the plot of love and betrayal through Goan music.
This has been first premiered in Doha Qatar followed by Goa, Mumbai, London, Milan and many other countries at special screenings and after every screening this movies has only been climbing the success ladder.
The success story of this movie reached far and wide by word of mouth from every screening. The curiosity and love for this movie grew by the day. With three national awards, six international awards and making it to the Oscars, it was only fair to have this movie also premiered in UAE for the large Goan, Manglorean and Konkani speaking community here. You could only hear every person murmuring the words ‘When will this movie come to UAE?’
Lo & behold, there were announcements flashing in the news and all social media that this movie is finally going to be screened for the first time in Dubai and yes, it was true, Nachom-ia Kumpasar premiered in Dubai on January 29, 2016.
Planning this screening in Dubai since last one year was not easy, but through the tireless and selfless efforts of two stalwarts of Nachom-ia Kumpasar team of Dubai, Henry Fernandes & Jacob Jackson Pereira, it was a dream come true for every Konkani loving community in the UAE.
Due to the overwhelming response from people of all the seven Emirates of UAE, Henry & Jacob were drawn to plan two shows for the screening which was a sold out within a few days. Such was the love shown to this movie. It was only through the hard work of Henry & Jacob, this movie was a reality to thousands of people who thronged the Shaikh Rashid Auditorium on January 29, 2016 for both the shows.
The wait for this movie in Dubai was reassuringly worth it. Each and every person took back an experience of a lifetime, an experience every Goan longed to reverberate, an experience which was close to every Goan’s heart, an experience which will be shared across generations.
Due to the mammoth success of this film, the organizers were able to tie up and rope in with popular establishments as sponsors for this premiere namely Air India, Khaleej Times, Most High Productions, Savoy Hotel Apartments - Dubai, Buzz Global, Rhea Lauren, Erics Restaurant, Daijiworld, The Yard, to the Point Solutions and The Picture Bar. All the sponsors and the well wishers were indeed an integral part of the success story of Dubai Premiere of Nachom-ia Kumpasar.

This movie brought together Goans and the Konkani loving community together as one family through the magnificent musical masterpiece that will be in the hearts of each and every person.
Every elated person who left the auditorium was humming the tunes they just heard or just quietly whispered ‘CHOL YA - NACHOM-IA KUMPASAR’.
