Media ReleaseDammam, Feb 13: Khobar United Cricket Club known for tennis ball cricket, laid the foundation for seasonal hard ball cricket in the city by winning EPCA organized T-20, 24 teams league format tournament in their first season itself.
It was overall an overwhelming performance from Team Khobar United which helped them to win this prestigious title.The final match was played between Khobar United and Friends CC.Khobar United batted first and put in a score of 200 runs loosing 7 wickets, with brilliant inputs from Billal scoring 51 runs, Anees 42 runs and Safder scoring 42 runs in just 15 balls which helped them to reach 200 runs. Friends CC in chase of a huge total lost wickets at frequent intervals and scored just 145 runs loosing 8 wickets. On his birthday KU captain Dildar lead from the front on the bowling side along with the bowlers Kashif, Anees and Fayaz picking wickets regularly.In the semifinal matches prior to this, Khobar United defeated mighty Eastern Arabia and Friends CC defeated SACCO Cricket Club.The management and supporters of KU were congratulated for their victory and celebrated their victory after the match.
