Los Angeles, Feb 11 (IANS): Actor Kit Harington, who is famous for playing Jon Snow in the hit HBO fantasy series "Game of Thrones", says his role has been extremely rewarding.
“I would say that Jon Snow is a young hero in a lot of ways. Personally, I think he has a lot of internal turmoil where he is fighting between his ambition to be someone and to make a mark on things. His ambition can and does make him do quite extreme things," Harington said in a statement.
“Jon is not the same man from season to season. There is too much that’s happened to him. Too much that has gone on that he has had to learn from. That for me has been an extremely rewarding experience," he added.
Harrington also spoke about the show and what appealed about the show appealed to him.
“'Game of Thrones' is very different from anything that has ever been done. I can’t think of any other fantasy that is as dark as this one is which is as gritty and as real," he said.
"Game of Thrones" is the TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire".
The series has won 26 Primetime Emmy Awards and numerous other awards and nominations, including three Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, a Peabody Award, and three Golden Globe Award nominations.
Apart from Harington, the show’s ensemble cast includes Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clark, Lena Headey, Maisie Williams and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau among others.
"Game of Thrones" seasons 1-5 will start on Star World and Star World HD from February 15.
