Doha, Feb 8: The Bunts Qatar Association as always organized their 4th annual fun sports day 2016 for the community members of the city on January 22 at Al Sailiya Family Park.
Bunts Qatar Cultural secretary Chaitali Uday Shetty presented an overview of the event. President of the forum Navaneetha Shetty welcomed the gathering.
The event kickstarted with flag hoisting by the president Navaneetha Shetty, founder president Ravi Shetty and visiting guests from India Reshma Ajila and Jayalaxmi Shetty along with managing committee members:
Ramachandra Shetty – vice president
Roshan Shetty – general secretary
Chaitali Uday Shetty - cultural secretary
Chandrashekar Shetty - sports secretary
Santosh Shetty – joint secretary
Vijaya Naresh Shetty – joint secretary
Dhananjay Rai – membership coordinator
Dhananjay Shetty – treasurer
Members were divided into four groups of different colors:
1.Doha Warriors - Green Team
2.Mesaieed Magnets – Blue Team
3.Dukhan Devils – Red Team
4.Khor Knights – Yellow Team
More than 15 games were organized for various age groups like polo race, multi legged race, sponge water race, caterpillar race, zig zag race etc.
The games were ably conducted by Ramachandra Shetty and Uday Shetty.
Sukesh Kumar and Aarosh were the judges for the event.
The highlight of the event was the foot cricket game which concluded with tug of war between the 4 teams. All the games were appreciated and supported with lots of cheers from their respective teams. Most of them had a nail-biting finish and the atmosphere was friendly, fun-filled and sporty.
'Khor Knights' team in yellow emerged victorious and lifted the rolling trophy, 'Doha Warriors' team in green were adjudged the runners up in a thrilling finish.
Breakfast, refreshing beverages and lunch were served at the venue.
The event concluded with prize distribution with the president and MC members giving away the prizes to the teams.
The rolling trophy was presented to the winning and runner up teams by Navaneeth Shetty.
Cultural secretary Chaitali Uday Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
