Puttur, Feb 8: Skeletal remains of a missing girl were found near her house after nearly five months on Sunday, February 7.
The skeletal remains of Soumya (25) were found on a hill at Tenkila near here.
Soumya had completed her PUC education before she started working in a private firm. After that she left her job to do beedi rolling from her house only. She was suffering from a disease of the veins for which she was taking treatment.
On 17 September 2015, Soumya went to her grandmother’s house at Kodijal which is 1.5 kilometres away from her house. The next day she left for her house but did not reach there at all. No clue could be found about her until the skeleton was found on Sunday.
Police sources said that it looked like a suicide from primary investigation. She could have hanged herself to end her life. Her cloths and chain were found with the skeleton. Based on this, her identity was established.
Puttur rural police are investigating the case.
