Udupi, Feb 7: Udupi Social School Venture Philanthropic Foundation organized prize distribution ceremony for the district level inter-school drawing competition 2015-16 at Hotel Durga International, on Sunday, February 7. Milagres Kallianpur school team bagged first prize in the competition.
Jerri Vincent Dias inaugurated the programme by lighting lamp.
Addressing the gathered, Jerri said, “All the parents work hard for the best future of their children. Along with working hard for them, parents should also educate their children about their past difficulties and other virtues. Children should be taught about values and tradition then only these children will look after their parents with love and care.”
“Parents should encourage their children to participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities along with study,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, artiste Peter Lewis and recipient of Karnataka Rajyotsava and president of Karnataka State Lalita Kala Academy said, “There has been an intrinsic relationship between art and mind. I wish to continue this programme in a larger manner in future.”
Milagres Kallianpur school team bagged first prize, Narayangur English medium school Malpe bagged the second place and Cecily’s school received the third prize in the drawing competition.
The guests distributed the prizes to the winning teams and individuals on the occasion.
The programme started with invocation. Ronald Saldanha welcomed the gathering.
Kwini Martis and Fr William Martis among others were present.
